Exterior Style FAQs

All FAQ's
What is the most cost-effective exterior cladding NZ?
The most cost-effective exterior cladding in NZ is typically fibre-cement weatherboard or sheet cladding, as it offers an excellent balance of durability, low maintenance, and affordability. Timber weatherboards can also be cost-effective upfront, but may require more long-term maintenance compared to fibre-cement options.
Is it cheaper to clad or render a house?
In most cases, cladding is cheaper than rendering, especially when using cost-effective options like fibre-cement or vinyl weatherboards. Rendering generally requires more labour, preparation, and specialist skill, which increases overall cost.
What is the most timeless exterior style?
The most timeless exterior style is generally considered to be classic, well-proportioned designs with neutral colours, such as traditional gable forms and weatherboard cladding. These styles age gracefully, stay in fashion across decades, and suit a wide range of landscapes and architectural tastes.
